The world knows Julie Bowen for the amazing role of Claire Dunphy alongside Ty Burrell’s Phil Dunphy in the iconic American sitcom Modern Family. Portraying the iconic role, Julie Bowen received worldwide fame and love.
What many people don’t know, however, is that the actress also starred alongside Adam Sandler in the 1996 film Happy Gilmore! Portraying the role of Virginia Venit, the people loved her in the movie. And with the recent news that the 1996 film is getting a sequel, people took to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss the noticeable absence of Julie Bowen!

And although the internet has been abuzz with the alleged cast of Happy Gilmore 2, the news isn’t official yet. It could be a possibility that Julie Bowen might be in the project after all and the studio might want to keep it a secret. All we do know is that Adam Sandler is indeed working on the Happy Gilmore 2 project as one of the writers of the film!

Christopher McDonald is an iconic actor who portrayed the role of the villain Shooter McGavin in the 1996 film. In a recent interview on 92.3 The Fan, the actor claimed that Adam Sandler showed him the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2 and he is quite excited for the project.
“I saw Adam about two weeks ago, and he says, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this,’ He shows me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2. He did show me that, and I thought, ‘Wow, that would be awesome.’ So it’s in the works. Fans, demand it, damn it!”
Well, Happy Gilmore received a rating of 7/10 on IMDB and an average of 62% on Rotten Tomatoes but was hailed as quite a funny movie (as is every other Adam Sandler movie). Although McDonald has claimed that a sequel is in the works, there are yet no official remarks for the same. And if there is a sequel in the works, there are no official comments on whether Julie Bowen is in the film or not. The 1996 film is currently available to stream on Apple TV+ in the U.S.
