What to Expect from Invincible Season 2 Part 2?

Invincible season 2 consists of 8 episodes, which were broken into two halves. The first part, consisting of 4 episodes, was released last November, while the second part is scheduled to be released on March 14, 2024. The four episodes will explore the aftermath of the mid-season finale, It’s Been A While, where Mark intervenes to save an alien species, resulting in unexpected personal consequences. After the mid-season finale, we see Omni Man’s perspective on his conflict with Mark. As he is trying to reconcile with his son after seemingly moving on in his life, they are attacked by Viltrumite soldiers.

After Invincible and Omni Man somehow save the planet, Invincible is severely injured, and Omni Man is taken hostage by Viltrumites. Due to his legacy, Mark is tasked with Omni Man’s mission to save Earth and prepare the planet for Viltrumite invasion. Omni Man tells Mark to read his books to gain some insights about his actions.

On Earth, Mark’s mother, Debbie, finally moves over Omni Man, throws his books away, and denies him his pension from Cecil. With the inevitable Viltrumite invasion at hand, it is interesting to see how Mark manages to save Earth and try to understand his father’s actions.

Fans who waited for more than two years to get the half-second season did not appreciate the split-season decision. Co-showrunner Simon Racioppa previously told TechRadar that it “wasn’t the original plan” to split the season in two, but the decision was made owing to production challenges, which were not likely caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
