“I did remember everyone’s names but you don’t want to go up there and say a bunch of names, that seems like a waste of time. I’ve said to people before I came here, ‘If I go up, I’m not gonna thank you because why should I?’ I did all of the typing and no one else did. And all the words came from my head so why am I gonna thank my lawyer? I love him and he’s done great stuff for me — he got me a blood good deal on Thor: Love and Thunder, but he didn’t type anything on Jojo Rabbit,” Waititi said (via Comicbook.com).

Taika Waititi Had No Interest in Doing One Marvel Movie
While Waititi gave the Thor franchise a much-needed lift with his own directorial style that is saturated with comedy. However, speaking to SmartLess podcast, the director said that he had no interest in directing Thor: Ragnarok. “I had no interest in doing one of those films,” Waititi said.
“It wasn’t on my plan for my career as an auteur. But I was poor and I’d just had a second child, and I thought, ‘You know what, this would be a great opportunity to feed these children’ […] I never read Thor comics as a kid. That was the comic I’d pick up and be like ‘Ugh.’ And then I did some research on it, and I read one Thor comic or 18 pages, or however long they are. I was still baffled by this character.”
Recalling Marvel studios approaching him, Waititi said, “Well, they’ve called me in, this is really the bottom of the barrel.” A little earlier, the director clearly stated that he wouldn’t be directing Thor 5 and concentrate on the other movies he signed up for.
