Dragon Ball is Getting a Theme Park in Saudi Arabia
Construction on a Dragon Ball theme park has been announced for Qiddya Entertainment City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A teaser film and a ton of promotional photos for the project, simply titled “The Dragon Ball Theme Park,” have been made public.
As to the latest press release, the 500,000 square meter Dragon Ball theme park would comprise seven distinct zones.
The park itself will have locations like Beerus’ Planet, Kame House, Capsule Corporation, and more as it attempts to recreate the universe of Dragon Ball. The Dragon Ball theme park is a component of the broader Qiddiya project, which was started in Saudi Arabia by the Qiddiya Investment Company. The goal of this massive initiative is to completely change the local entertainment scene.
There will be five innovative tourist attractions among the more than thirty themed rides at the theme park. Additionally, guests will have the choice of lodging in hotels with a theme and dining at various restaurants housed inside imposing monuments. This is truly a great achievement for the Dragon Ball franchise and the anime community in general.
The Dragon Ball Theme Park is Filled With Entertainment
Based on the famous dragon from the series, the Shenron rollercoaster is set to become the park’s hallmark attraction, reaching a height of up to 70 meters. The Dragon Ball theme park would cover more than 500,000 square meters and be divided into seven themed regions. Fans will be able to explore universes ranging from the original TV series to Dragon Ball Super.
The project’s goal is to bring to life the fantasy of what it would be like if the Dragon Ball universe existed in real life. The theme park can also be seen as an homage of respect to Akira Toriyama, the legendary creator of Dragon Ball, who recently passed away at the age of 68 because of acute subdural hematoma.
Although it’s just the beginning of the next level of growth for the anime and manga community, the theme park is sure to serve as a beacon of innovation and there is a possibility that soon other prominent anime and manga series might also get something like this.
