The Fallout series and Microsoft continue to show each other an endless amount of love, much to the chagrin of Sony.
With the release of the new Fallout TV show on Amazon Prime, there’s a ton more eyes on the franchise. Unfortunately for Sony, it seems Xbox is the way to go to experience the series in its best form, and PS users are just going to have to deal with it.
Series X/S Lets Users Play Fallout 3 In the Most Immersive Way
Fallout 3 greets the Series X/S with crisp, high-resolution visuals that make the wasteland come alive like never before. Thanks to the magic of 4K resolution, 60 frames per second, HDR, and 16x anisotropic filtering, every rusted car and crumbling building looks sharper and more detailed than ever.
The game on the Series X/S also boasts lightning-fast loading times and the innovative Quick Resume feature, allowing players to jump back into the action in the blink of an eye. It’s a joy to see how well the game runs on hardware that’s come out decades after its release.
The best part is that Series X/S owners don’t have to pay a penny to experience this blast from the past. Bethesda’s 2008 title is available as part of the console’s backward compatibility program, allowing players to revisit one of the greatest RPGs of all time at no extra cost.
To play Fallout 3 on the PS5, you’d have to go about it through the PS Plus Premium game streaming, which you’d need to pay money for. Sorry, Sony fans—Microsoft takes the win on this one.
You Can Still Enjoy the Latest Wasteland Adventure on Prime Video
Fear not, Fallout fans of all stripes have reason to celebrate. With the recent release of the Amazon Prime TV show, the entire franchise has been getting some well-deserved love lately.
In preparation for its release, beloved games from the series were being offered for free through Prime Gaming. Plus, we recently got a huge announcement detailing that Fallout 4 would be getting a huge overhaul for PS5, Series X/S, and PC users.
The update comes complete with visual enhancements, optimizations, and a slew of new content. Players can look forward to new armor, weapons, a quest line, and much more, so you can finally start that new save you’ve been thinking about for the past couple of months.
While the new TV show isn’t following the plot of the games to a T, don’t write it off just yet. Sure, the show features new characters and a new plot, but without straying from the essence of the franchise and staying respectful of it.
