It seems that even major companies like Microsoft can make mistakes once in awhile, as it has posted on the Xbox Store the release date of Mortal Kombat 1‘s Omni-Man DLC. At the moment, this character DLC bundle is set to start with early access on November 6th.

This will only be the start of the character DLC bundle for Mortal Kombat 1, as the first character that will be released is Omni-Man, but more will be on the way after a few months. The rest of the characters that will be coming in this bundle are Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda.

Who is Omni-Man, and Why Will He Be A Part of Mortal Kombat 1?

Microsoft accidentally announced the release date of Omni-Man through the Xbox Store.

Omni-Man is a supervillain from the Amazon Prime Video show Invincible. Within this show, he is voiced by well-known actor J. K. Simmons, who is known for playing other memorable roles like J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man films.

Within Mortal Kombat, J. K. Simmons will be reprising his role as Omni-Man as he takes on the creatures and gods that venture throughout the realms. As a character, Omni-Man has had quite an interesting past and is one of the strongest beings in the Invincible series.

Thanks to this, Omni-Man will have a rather unique move set as he is constantly looking for a challenge, which is something he may find within Mortal Kombat 1. From what we have seen in his trailer, Omni-Man utilises his speed and strength to their fullest potential.

There are even Easter eggs within his abilities and finishers as they link together with scenes from the Invincible series. During his trailer, we see him use a train to kill his opponent in a gory and horrible scene, or he can pop a person’s skull open with his bare hands.

How Will Omni-Man Fare Against Characters Like Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1?

Xbox Store Confirms Mortal Kombat 1’s Omni-Man DLC Release Date
Players are eager to play as Omni-Man, with his release coming very soon.

As stated above, Omni-Man isn’t the only supervillain that will be entering Mortal Kombat 1 as a playable character in the DLC bundle. Sometime in the future, Homelander, another supervillain from another Amazon Prime Video show called The Boys, will also be making his introduction to the franchise.

One thing that has many gamers worried is whether or not Homelander and Omni-Man will be basically the same characters with different skins. Luckily, this has already been discussed by Development Chief, Ed Boon, with IGN, and he has mentioned they won’t be clones of each other.

Both of these characters share a lot of the same abilities and moves, that can be recreated within Mortal Kombat 1. However, it has been confirmed that they will be created so that they will be unique to themselves and will most likely have abilities and attacks that look similar to moments in their respective shows.

Until we receive a trailer showing the skillset of Homelander, we can only take Ed Boon’s word, but so far this has made the Mortal Kombat fanbase very excited and eager to see both of these characters release.

So far, we do not know who is stronger, and we cannot wait to find out. Until both characters are released, players will be unable to see which supervillain is stronger than the other and who has the messier finisher.
