Developer Direct will be held on January 18 and will feature announcements from the “selection of highly anticipated games” that will be released for Xbox and PC and one of those games is MachineGames’ Indiana Jones. The game was announced in early 2021 with a brief trailer showcasing popular items of the series such as the Fedora hat and the infamous Whip.

The developer, MachineGames took to X/Twitter today and announced that it will reveal the gameplay of the new Indiana Jones game at the showcase and added that it is excited to showcase what it has been working on. The Developer Direct announcement revealed that the developer will also unveil the game’s setting, story, how players will play as Indy, and more. The blog post reads:

Developer_Direct will showcase more than 10 minutes of game and developer insights, including details about the game’s setting and story, how fans will actually play as Indy, additional details from his next globe-trotting adventure, and the premiere of the first gameplay trailer.

Players have waited a long time for an official look at the game and it is now finally here. Bethesda head Todd Howard has previously coined the game as a “mash-up” and had also hinted at the possible reveal of the game this year back in September 2023 and seems like he was right. The reveal trailer of the game featured a ticket to Rome and there are rumors that the game could take players to the Colosseum but it is pure speculation as of now.

Moreover, there are also rumors that the game might be released sometime in 2024, and with the gameplay reveal coming next week, it could be true after all. Both Bethesda and Machine Games have been tight-lipped about the game and nothing else is known about it so far other than that it is planned to launch on Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Additionally, Oxide Games’ Ara: History Untold and Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will also grace the event with developers unveiling the gameplay and how they are developing the games.

ZeniMax Online Studios will host the global reveal of The Elder Scrolls Online 2024 after the showcase and Xbox has also mentioned that the event will not feature any updates on games from Activision Blizzard but players can expect some news later in the year.
