Weaver recalled,

“I was sitting there with three hundred other people in the ballroom watching the dance scene. It’s crucial that they get five points in order to win the parlay bet. The judges kept holding up their scores in take after take. I’m not great at math, but I kept adding them up thinking, ‘That doesn’t add up to five.’ So I told one of the producers that it didn’t average five, and he said, ‘Oh my God!’, and they changed it. So yeah, I saved the film.”

Jacki Weaver is a famous Australian actress who received her first Oscar nomination for her role in the 2010 crime film Animal Kingdom. Later, in 2012, she received her second nomination for Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence’s film Silver Lining Playbook.

“His own mom is a really beautiful Italian Philadelphian, with a fabulous accent. Salt of the earth, and adorable. But the height thing, I’m under five feet, so some of the crew were teasing me, ‘How could you possibly give birth to Bradley Cooper?’ Because he’s such a big boy. He’s like 6”1’.”

The diva also shared how she molded her accent for the film with the help of Bradley Cooper. She said,

“For the first week or so, I had a fantastic voice coach, and having Brad around helped. My character in Silver Linings is walking a tightrope, so if she seems tentative, it’s because she wants to keep the peace, and it comes out in the voice.”

Silver Lining Playbook grossed $236 million worldwide. It was nominated for eight categories at the 85th Academy Awards, and Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar for Best Actress.

Silver Lining Playbook is available for streaming on Apple TV.
