The franchises like to kill off characters who are dear to the audience. That’s what is now happening with one of the most popular series in the industry. Yellowstone, the series which made its debut in the year 2018 and already became a fan favorite. The series has in total of 5 seasons and the last season was released in January. But that was just the first part of the season, the second half is yet to come.

Well, the future of Kevin Costner’s character John Dutton remains uncertain in Yellowstone. Currently, the makers are having a scheduling disagreement with the actor in regard to the shoot of the second half of the season. Currently, Costner is keeping up busy with one of his film projects, and side by side he also has commitments for season 5. For those of you who don’t know, Costner is the director, producer, writer, and actor of his upcoming film Horizon

According to Deadline’s sources, it’s known that even for the first season, The Bodyguard actor wanted to work just for 50 days. In the past seasons, the actor has worked for 65 days, due to which the conflicts increased between both parties. Currently, Costner is negotiating with the makers to film for only one week. These conflicts are leading to makers thinking to kill off his character from the series. Some sources suggest that the negotiation proposal has been declined from the maker’s end.

Matthew McConaughey To Star in Yellowstone’s Spin-Off

The future of season 6 in the Yellowstone series remains in doubt. But one thing is fixed, Matthew McConaughey will be starring in the series spinoff. The spokesperson from Paramount Network gave his confirmation about McConaughey, but it is not known who will be starring in this new Yellowstone extension.

This won’t be the first spinoff to the popular series, as previously many prequels have been already made. The prequels are named 1883 and 1923. Out of these two series, 1923 has already been renewed for another season. Well with John Dutton or without him, the show will proceed further with other characters.

Yellowstone season 5 is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Paramount Network.
