When Henry Cavill’s Mustache Had To Be Digitally Removed

Well, for his role in Fallout, Cavill had to boast an impressive mustache for his role as August Walker in the movie. The mustache was so impressive that Cavill did not want to shave them off while shooting the movie and he also did not want a fake mustache for his scenes. Well, the actor started working on the Justice League reshoots which resulted in Warner Bros. digitally removing the mustache.

Well, the CGI was quite terrible for a clean-shaven Superman and the actor received a lot of backlash for choosing Tom Cruise but the actor had his commitments.

“When we decided to go for the moustache, I certainly wasn’t expecting all the events to unfold as they were going to unfold. I wasn’t expecting Justice League reshoots to be as extensive as they were. When it came to that, it was one of those things where I’m in the middle of another movie, and to change my look for a movie that should have finished already becomes a real problem.”

The actor further continued that due to his prior commitments with Tom Cruise, he wasn’t able to cut his mustache and a fake wouldn’t do. Stating that the intense stunts required a real mustache since a fake one would just fall off.

Being a perfect gentleman, Henry Cavill revealed that he did have the option of a fake mustache but he didn’t use that idea. Stating that a fake mustache would just fall right off while performing stunts, Cavill stated that he can’t win every time.

And as you will see when the movie comes out, to have a fake moustache on would not have been a possibility. You’ll think, ‘Okay, yeah, a fake moustache would perhaps have been blown off in this situation.’ Unfortunately, it led to much dismay when Justice League came out, but that’s the nature of these things. You can’t win every time.”

Well, much later when Zack Snyder emerged with Zack Snyder’s Justice League when the world became familiar with a clean-shaven Superman again. Henry Cavill’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout is currently available to stream on Paramount+.
