Jack Quaid faces a rather unusual dilemma when visiting Katz’s Delicatessen in New York City. As the son of the iconic Meg Ryan, who famously simulated an org*sm in the same deli in When Harry Met Sally, Quaid confessed that it’s an “uncommon form of embarrassment” to be in that particular eatery.

Jack Quaid Was Ashamed To Talk About The Scene

Jack Quaid confessed to InStyle back in 2019 that during the filming of the Hulu romantic comedy Plus One, he found it impossible to broach the topic of When Harry Met Sally.

“In the rehearsal process we were talking about rom-coms and ‘When Harry Met Sally’ came up and I made the confession that I had never seen [it],” Quaid said. “It’s one of those things, where if you really think about it, you don’t want to see your mom having a fake org*sm in a deli when you’re growing up. I avoided it.”

“I watched the movie, because I’m doing a rom-com, I have to watch the rom-com, and the movie’s so much more than that scene,” Quaid said. “I was so unbelievably proud of my mom — I called her sobbing, like ‘I’m so proud of you!’ and she like ‘Ah, cool!’ She was excited I’d seen it, and then I came into rehearsal that day still sobbing and it was this weird moment where I’m like ‘Guys, I’m just so proud of my mom! ‘I was thinking about the New Year’s scene in the movie and I was just like ‘Oh God.’ I learned so much — she didn’t have to give me any tips — I just watched what she did, it was incredible.”

Nevertheless, Quaid did eventually sit down to watch the movie, which featured Billy Crystal and Carrie Fisher as co-stars.

Jack Quaid Felt Like A background Actor In Oppenheimer

Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Oppenheimer boasts an ensemble cast filled with Hollywood luminaries such as Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, and Matt Damon. Among these stars is Jack Quaid.

Collaborating with director Christopher Nolan for the first time, Jack Quaid expressed his immense satisfaction with the experience of working alongside the Inception director. The 31-year-old actor also emphasized that being a part of the project allowed him the valuable opportunity to witness the talents of esteemed actors and the filmmaker himself while learning from their expertise.

“Shooting that was such an incredible experience. Like, I’m like a blip in that movie, but it was just so incredible to sit there and watch true masters do what they do.”

Quaid conveyed his profound happiness and gratitude for the incredible opportunity, admitting that he still finds it somewhat surreal to be a part of a Christopher Nolan film. In the movie, he takes on the role of Richard Feynman, a theoretical physicist who, like Quaid, was involved in the Manhattan Project alongside other prominent scientists.
