Mark Ruffalo Accidentally Smoked Marijuana Onstage
Apart from appearing in Marvel movies as the gigantic Hulk, Mark Ruffalo has also done some of the best critically acclaimed films of all time. Alongside his Hollywood career, the actor is also known for carrying on his theatrical performances. But Ruffalo seemingly had some wild stories associated with his theatre shows.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Mark Ruffalo once narrated a shocking story about the time when he accidentally smoked marijuana during the first moments of an opening-night stage performance. Without giving out details about the specific production, the actor discussed how a naughty young actor had slipped a real joint instead of the prop.
“There was a play that I did where I smoked a joint in the first scene. And of course, there was a very naughty young actor that I was in the play with who, on the opening night with all of the critics, he slipped a real joint onto the prop table.”
Narrating the whole story, Mark Ruffalo raised some eyebrows when he explained what had actually happened that night. Seated beside Nicki Minaj and John Bishop, Ruffalo even acted out the whole thing, while sharing the story.
Things Turned Out in Favor of High Mark Ruffalo
Discussing how things were supposed to turn out and instead how it all went, Mark Ruffalo shared his wild story with his audiences. Reenacting the whole scenario, the actor even mentioned how his co-star who was supposed to take a puff from the joint, was someone who had never smoked marijuana before. Raising the suspense, Ruffalo shared the story.
“I’m out there—now, when you’re acting, you overdo everything. So, when you’re out at a party, you take two puffs and say that’s enough, ‘I’m so stoned’. But I was acting and so I’m just like [takes a massive puff]. Between the two of us, we smoked a giant blunt onstage. I’m like, ‘Man, I am in it tonight. I feel it. I am on fire, man’”.
“I’m feeling it [turns back enacting], ‘what’s that dude standing backstage laughing at me?’. And the kid, who put the joint on the prop table, standing there going [muted laugh], and I just went ‘oh sh*t’. And the girl that I was passing it to had never smoked pot in her life.”
Making fans feel secondhand embarrassment and sorry for them, Mark Ruffalo made Graham Norton go “oh my god” to his story. With fans laughing and applauding at his story, Ruffalo even shifted from the topic once and admitted his experience of smoking marijuana before, which somehow helped him not lose control on stage.
Eventually, he claimed how despite being epically stoned onstage, Mark Ruffalo bagged the best reviews of his career. Admitting how things turned out in favor of him, the actor claimed, “At the end of the play, I got the best reviews of my entire career.” Ruffalo concluded his hilarious and embarrassing story, with Graham Norton proceeding to talk with Nicki Minaj and John Bishop.
