Sometimes actors make mistakes and sometimes they say the worst possible things and get shocked when their fans turn against them. Charlize Theron has been infamous for her choice of words quite often causing major backlash. Although she does not shy away from saying her mind as and when needed, it can cause some issues here and there.

It is an unfortunate reality that celebrities often compare their lifestyles to things that are nowhere near true. Whether it is some of the most gruesome things or much lighter subjects as well, they choose to go for the worst possible analogies to prove their point. When this backfires, they do not expect it, but the fans do. They see the reality of the situation and do not like being compared in that manner at all.

Charlize Theron Brought Trouble Upon Herself

It is, of course, not a matter of question as to how scrutinizing the media can get from time to time. The paparazzi can get cruel and celebrities may try their best to escape whatever is written or being said about them. Charlize Theron also chooses not to search for herself or read any article about herself so as to keep herself away from all that people have to say about her.

“I don’t do that, so that’s my saving grace. When you start living in that world, and doing that, you start I guess feeling r*ped.”

Theron made a mistake while she was addressing the problem though. She compared the overbearing existence of the media in actors’ private lives to being r*ped. Fans did not take it well at all. Stating any other term for it could work but not that. It can be agreed upon by everyone that invasion of privacy is wrong but comparing that to r*pe is wrong in various levels.

Charlize Theron continued after that statement, saying that it was important for her to protect her family, especially her children from the media. She does not want to be in a place where negative comments can easily push a person into and she did not want her child to be affected by that either.

“I don’t always win that war but as long as I don’t have to see that stuff or read that stuff or hear that stuff then I can live with my head in a clear space, which is probably a lot healthier than living in that dark room.”

She does not mind whatever the people say about her as long as it doesn’t have to reach her. However, that does not justify how she used one of the worst analogies possible to explain the impact of the media.
