Zack Snyder has become one of the most integral parts of Hollywood. His work has turned more than a few heads, helping him establish himself as a true talent. Amounting to great things and inspiring many to join the industry, trying to calculate the impact that the filmmaker has had would be impossible.
While he has been a part of many respected projects throughout his career and is working on more, he cannot seem to outrun his past with DC. While Rebel Moon was quite a disappointment for fans, a sequel is expected to show up on Netflix eventually. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee how good it will be, now that Dan Lin has become the new Head of the streaming giant.
Dan Lin Becomes New Head Of Film At Netflix
The Hollywood Reporter recently announced some very interesting information about a shift in the hierarchy at Netflix, which will completely change the streaming service in some very important ways. It would seem that Dan Lin has been appointed the new Head of Film at the media company. His appointment in the role is not surprising as he is very well-known and respected in the film industry.
He has been closely associated with the DC Universe for a very long time, having been a part of many of their projects and having almost been made the head of the franchise. He has also worked on several Lego movies, Two Popes, It, and most recently, Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation.
While he has many plans about what he wants to do with the company and what it does in the world of cinema, it is important to note that one of the most talented filmmakers under Netflix’s roster might be in trouble.
What Does The Change Mean For Zack Snyder?
While in the announcement, it was mentioned that Dan Lin has planned to expand the range of Netflix’s films through filmmakers like Zack Snyder, fans cannot help but bring up the past. During a 2022 interview with The Ankler Podcast, the producer voiced his opinion on the filmmaker, the Snyderverse, and his fans.
While he did not say much about Snyder himself, he did talk about his opinions on the filmmaker’s fans. referring to them as ‘Autobots’, he touched on the subject of being passed up as head of DC. He mentioned that it was a good thing that it did not happen as he would have to face the wrath of Synderverse fans.
While some time has passed since this happened, audiences cannot help but be afraid that the bad blood is still there and will affect Snyder’s ongoing film series, Rebel Moon.
