Assassin’s Creed Red is Ubisoft’s answer to fans who have been demanding a samurai or ninja-style game set in feudal Japan but it seems like the interest has died down ever since PlayStation filled in the void with Ghost of Tsushima. Although it is unofficially announced, Sucker Punch Production’s next project is most likely the anticipated sequel.

The genre has grown through the years and the gaming community’s curiosity has piqued immensely. Ghost of Tsushima 2 could carry the strength of the original while incorporating some concepts from Assasin’s Creed to become the ultimate samurai game.

Video games often take inspiration from real life and culture and occasionally other games. Ubisoft had the headstart years prior but didn’t tap into the cultural significance of Japan until PlayStation did with Ghost of Tsushima. In a now-deleted tweet, details of Assassin’s Creed Red have surfaced but the gaming community would rather have Ghost of Tsushima 2 instead.

It appears that Ubisoft will need to make more significant changes than just improving the stealth gameplay and adding new animations and mechanics, such as giving the ability to go prone for the first time if they hope to regain the favor of their fans. The gameplay of Ghost of Tsushima demonstrates an ideal equilibrium between stealth and a direct approach, which has resonated positively with players.

Members of the gaming community have little to fear and are very vocal about their opinions and if this is the current vibe the fans have towards Assassin’s Creed Red then Ubisoft has a major problem that needs to be remedied as soon as possible.

Assassin’s Creed Red May Not Be A Threat To PlayStation’s Ghost Of Tsushima 2

Assassin's Creed Red is shaping up to be Ubisoft's biggest installment to the franchise and is putting a lot of emphasis on stealth.

The gaming community has been requesting Ubisoft to create an Assassin’s Creed game set in feudal Japan. However, PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have already delivered an amazing game called Ghost of Tsushima, and its sequel, Ghost of Tsushima 2, is expected to be even better.

Despite other developers’ attempts at creating samurai games, fans were surprised by the similarities between the fighting styles and animations of Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin and Ghost of Tsushima. The work of Sucker Punch heavily inspired the latest Soulslike game’s combat and it is not a bad thing at all.

Ghost of Tsushima provides a fresh take on the open-world adventure genre. It boasts stunning visuals, an immersive story, and an authentic representation of Japanese culture. Fans have longed to see such an approach in an Assassin’s Creed game, but Sony seems to have beaten them to it, setting the bar high.

Regardless, it is still exciting to see Ubisoft finally go in the direction fans want and see how the developers can one-up the competition. Would you rather play Ghost of Tsushima 2 than Assassin’s Creed Red? Let us know in the comments section below!
