There will also be quest updates added to the game, and a new Enclave questline is also coming with new weapons and armor. While fans were happy with this, this has led to the indefinite delay of the highly anticipated DLC-sized Fallout: London mod that was scheduled to launch later this month.

Team FOLON released an update video and announced that the mod is indefinitely delayed due to the upcoming next-gen update to Fallout 4 on PS5, Xbox, and PC. Since the update is also coming for PC, it will affect the existing mods, which will require them to be fixed before they can run with the new version that arrives with the update.

It also affects the mods still in the works. The mods run on the Fallout 4 script extender, which will be left broken by the update. This is why the developer had to delay Fallout London, and now there is no fixed release date.

The mod lead, Dean Carter, said that the mod has been ready to ship on April 23 since the last update, but this update just changes things. Carter said:

With the new update dropping just 48 hours later, the past four years of our work stand to just simply break.

Carter mentioned that the update will “break” the updated UI that has new features, new quests, perk systems, and 2D art. He said that all of this will need to be fixed before the mod is ready again, as after the update, the mod will run like “blancmange,” and Team FOLON does not want that.

The Delay Is Not All Bad News for the Mod

The mod does have a release date but will launch as soon as it is fixed.

He also added that the team has reached out to Bethesda, but it will take time to fix the mod and make it run like it is intended to. Carter said this development “pains” him and the team, but Team FOLON is on it and will try to bring the mod to players as soon as possible.

Fans think Bethesda may be intentionally doing this for some reason. Carter said that the update could enhance the capabilities of the mod as the new version brings engine improvements and performance upgrades, which are “fantastic.”

He added that Team FOLON can now “push the engine even harder than we’ve already pushed it,” which could result in greater quality-of-life improvements in the mod. The size issue of the mod has also been solved with the arrival of GOG, as it will now be hosting the mod.

It will be available on both GOG and Steam and probably the Epic Games Store, once the Bethesda update lands. Carter added the mod will launch as soon as it is fixed.
