Deadpool and Wolverine has already got fans excited with its impactful teaser trailer. Fans will have to wait a few more months to experience the new MCU film in theaters but information about the film continues to pour in. According to the latest insider report, the film will reportedly introduce the concept of an ‘Anchor’ to the branches of Yggdrasil into the MCU. This concept may prove detrimental to Earth-616 due to the apparent death of the Scarlet Witch in this universe.
The Ryan Reynolds film will see the titular characters having a go at each other, but eventually uniting to fight off a bigger threat. The TVA from Loki plays a prominent role in Deadpool and Wolverine, who will possibly assign a multiverse-saving task to Deadpool.
Deadpool and Wolverine Theory Could Make Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda A Major Threat
Marvel Studio’s Deadpool and Wolverine will be one of the turning points for the MCU, both on and off-screen. The potential success of the film will bring back fans’ faith in the franchise after a series of failed or average projects. However, the storyline is expected to take an even more interesting turn with Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool traveling through the multiverse to sort out a problem.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, one other Loki element besides the TVA will make its appearance in the film. The film will introduce the concept of an ‘Anchor’ to the branches of Yggdrasil. This anchor will be a specific being in the universe, whose death will cause the entire Universe to decay, unravel, and completely vanish along with the being.
Richtman’s scoop also generated several other theories on social media and online discussion forums. Redditor, u/Tonycam24, suggests that Scarlet Witch could be the Anchor being and her death at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has possibly kicked off an Incursion event.
According to this Redditor’s theory, in order to save Earth-616 from Incursion, the Young Avengers will team up to bring Elizabeth Olsen‘s character back to life. As shown in the end credits of The Marvels, the Young Avengers team is starting to shape up under Iman Vellani‘s Ms. Marvel. However, the team will face resistance from Doctor Strange, who believes that Scarlet Witch is too dangerous to be brought back to life.
Deadpool and Wolverine Seemingly Confirms Another Popular Theory
Fans of the film earlier speculated that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will not be the only variant of the character in the film. A new promotional art for the film confirmed four other variants, including Babypool, Kidpool, Dogpool, and Headpool. Speculations particularly mentioned the cameo of a child star in the role of Kidpool. Percy Jackson actor Walker Scobell was the fan choice for the role (via CBR).

As for variants in the film, another scoop from @CanWeGetToast suggested earlier that Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine will also have variants. The scooper also reported that a Wolverine variant will be played by none other than the Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill. Others also reported the involvement of Cavill in a potential MCU role.
Deadpool and Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
