Actor Walker Scobell, who is well known for his performance in the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, is rumored to be joining the MCU as Kidpool in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. However, fans have suggested that he would be better as Franklin Richards, the son of Reed and Sue Richards.
Very soon, Fantastic Four will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since Disney has now purchased Fox Studios. There is still time until 2025’s The Fantastic Four but Scobell’s casting as Franklin Richards can indeed work if he fails to bag the role of Kidpool. The 15-year-old actor has showcased his talent in various movies like The Adam Project and Secret Headquarters.
Will Walker Scobell appear as Kidpool in Deadpool & Wolverine?
Over the past few weeks, many media outlets have claimed that actor Walker Scobell will be appearing as Kidpool in the upcoming MCU movie, Deadpool & Wolverine. In December 2023, Scobell revealed that he hopes to reunite with Ryan Reynolds in an interview with ComicBook (via CBR),
“Not that I know of, but I learned a lot of valuable lessons from them that I used while filming Percy Jackson… I’m not sure – I’m hoping to reunite someday, but I don’t know.”
Scobell worked with Reynolds in 2022’s The Adam Project. Given how good their chemistry is, the rumors about Scobell appearing as Kidpool grew stronger over the past few months. Scobell has also worked with Owen Wilson in 2022’s Secret Headquarters. As per ComicBook, Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider stated that Wilson will be appearing as Mobius M. Mobius in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Fans have a better role for Walker Scobell: Franklin Richards
Even if Scobell fails to bag the role of Kidpool, fans believe that he would be perfect for another role in the MCU. With Fantastic Four being integrated into the MCU, Marvel Studios can introduce Franklin Richards, the son of Reed and Sue Richards. Many social media users have suggested that Scobell would be perfect for this role.
Fantastic Four Updates on X recently confirmed that Franklin Richards would be appearing in The Fantastic Four (2025), which is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 25, 2025, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. As for Deadpool & Wolverine, the expectations are quite high, particularly because of Hugh Jackman’s return as James “Logan” Howlett / Wolverine. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 26, 2024.
