The handsome British star is now making heads turn and hearts flutter in the historical drama miniseries Mary and George in which he plays George Villiers, who has a sizzling love affair with King James VI.
Along with Galitzine, veteran star Julianne Moore plays the other titular protagonist and George’s mother, who grooms the young courtier to use his charms and wile to gain the throne. The two co-stars shared a great rapport on set which saw Moore poking lighthearted fun at Galitzine’s fractured ankle on the sets of the show.

The British miniseries Mary and George is being appreciated by fans and critics for its bold portrayal of the relationship between King James and George Villiers. Orchestrated by the crafty Mary Villiers. Nicholas Galitzine and Julianne Moore who play the titular characters, the series has received extremely positive responses for their performances.
The Red, White & Royal Blue actor and the Oscar winner also shared a great camaraderie on set which was evident from their various promotional interviews. Galitzine recently revealed an example of their constant banter when he spoke of an accident he had on set due to wearing high heels for a shot, which resulted in a broken ankle.
To add to his woes, this particular scene ultimately did not feature in the final edit of the episode. But The Idea of You actor was snubbed even further by his co-star Moore who had a hilarious reaction to his injury. In an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Galitzine elaborated on what went down.
“God, it’s so depressing. And You know what? Julianne Moore called me and told me, she said it was so funny. She always finds my pain very funny. She’s kind of cruel-hearted like that yeah!”
After sharing a good laugh with the audience, the Mary and George star revealed that he had renewed respect for anyone who wore heels as he realized what a difficult feat it was to work with them.
Nicholas Galitzine on Shifting Gears In The Idea Of You
After playing a series of handsome royals in films and television shows, Nicholas Galitzine is moving on to something diametrically different in the romantic comedy The Idea of You. The Cinderella actor co-stars with Anne Hathaway in a story about a 24-year-old singer in a band who enters into a relationship with a 40-year-old single mother during Coachella.
The film, which is due to premier on Amazon Prime on May 2nd, 2024, is already garnering a lot of hype for the sizzling chemistry between the two lead stars who are both heartthrobs in their own right. In an appearance in Late Night with Seth Meyers, Galitzine spoke of why it was important to do something like Mary and George and The Idea of You at the same time.
“I think, you know, it touches a completely different audience. And I think it’s a very important movie right now for a lot of people too.”
Despite playing a member of a boy band performing in Coachella, the celebrity admitted in a lighter vein that the festival and its hot, sweaty vibe in the middle of a desert did not appeal to his personal tastes.
