Right behind him is David Corenswet, who we hear is cutting on his carbs. Wanting a stylized muscular physique, dieting becomes a necessity. However, in a recent interview with Paolo Mascitti (the personal trainer of Corenswet) on GQ, the trainer talked about how Corenswet had to bulk up for the role of Superman.

“He was on around 6,000 calories a day and his diet was strict, but not as strict as I would have liked. Half of his training had to be done over FaceTime and half in person as he wasn’t in Los Angeles all the time.”

He further continued,

“We’d speak remotely and I’d ask him about his diet and he’d be eating cereal! He’d ask What’s wrong with cereal!? But that’s why he’s the perfect Superman, he has a realistic expectation of himself and the role.”

However, this wasn’t all as Paolo Mascitti further talked about how it was his opinion that David Corenswet was born to portray the role of Superman. Complimenting James Gunn for his impeccable casting, Mascitti couldn’t help but praise Corenswet’s immense stamina and his will!

Praising the actor for his physique and a determination to make Superman proud, Paolo Mascitti cannot stop complimenting David Corenswet. With already an incredible body in the work, here’s what Mascitti had to say about Corenswet portraying the role of Superman.

“He is Superman. James Gunn is amazing at casting people, and this guy was born to be Superman. Ask any cast or crew member, David is the nicest guy, and I think, the perfect Superman.”

With people hating on Corenswet’s new look as Superman, it seems that there is a silver lining for the actor after all. Wanting to see how James Gunn weaves his way around Superman in the DCU, fans are really excited for the upcoming film.

Having James Gunn as the director and Corenswet portraying the lead role, Superman is set for a release date of 11 July 2025 in theaters across the U.S.
