But the next project with A24 seeks to change the star’s image from a big-budget blockbuster hitmaker to a more artistic and inspiring actor as a whole.
It was revealed sometime back through official means that the Baywatch star was going to be playing the role of former UFC World Heavyweight Champion Mark Kerr in his biography film titled The Smashing Machine, a film by A24, with filmmaker Benny Safdie helming the project.
And now, we have received confirmation that Johnson will be starting to prepare for his role soon enough, as the film’s production is said to begin in the near future.

He said that creating commercially successful films had been a big part of his career till now, which is why he wants to express himself and act in films that have more personality, character, and artistic value in the industry going forward, and this will be his first step towards that goal.
Thus, with the star deciding to change lanes in his career, many people now believe that soon they could witness The Rock conquering coveted award ceremonies with critical acclaim.
