Elden Ring was released in 2022 but is still relevant almost two years later. While some credit can be given to the game’s first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, the game’s cult status is to be credited for keeping it relevant in 2024, too.
Since it is a Soulsborne RPG, character builds for one’s main character are essential. As the Tarnished gathers and gears up for Shadow of the Erdtree, ensuring their build is as relevant to the current scenario as possible will set them up for success. These are the top five builds to prepare for the game’s first significant expansion.
Elden Ring Build #4 – Spear Major (Dexterity and Arcane)
The weapons for this build will be Eleanor’s Poleblades (Twin Blades) and Rivers of Blood (Katana). Eleanor’s Poleblades will cause a lot of stance damage and, at the same time, bleed procs. The Katana will provide strategic superiority due to its ease of use in fights and its simplistic nature.
For this build to work at its highest potential, it would require both weapons to be upgraded to +10. Moreover, any seal available to cast prominent buffs will suffice. Armors can depend on the player’s preference, but the ideal is the Ronin’s Set with the Iron Kasa. The best Talismans for maximum damage are the Ritual Sword Talisman, the Shard of Alexander, Millicent’s Prosthesis, and the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia.
In your Memory Slots, use Golden Vow and Howl of Shabriri. Also, mix the Fire Shrouding Cracked Tear and the Thorny Cracked Tear in the Flask of Wondrous Physick. The stats for this build are as follows:

Elden Ring Build #3 – Cold Flame Swordsman (Intelligence)
The primary weapons of this build are Death’s Poker and the Helphen’s Steeple. To cast spells, the player will use Azur’s Glintstone Staff. Any seal to cast buffs will do. The preferred armor is the Spellblade’s Set, which will grant 8% more damage. The best Talismans for maximum damage are the Ritual Sword Talisman, the Shard of Alexander, the Magic Scorpion Charm, and the Dragoncrest Greatshield.
In your Memory Slots, use Terra Magica, Explosive Ghostflame, and Howl of Shabriri. Also, mix the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear and Dexterity-knot Crystal Tear in the Flask of Wondrous Physick. The stats for this build are as follows:

Elden Ring Build #2 – Lightning Samurai (Dexterity)
The primary weapon for this build will be Keen Nagakiba, boosted to +25 with Unsheathe applied to it. The armor will consist of Goldmask’s Rags, White Reed Gauntlets, and Greaves. The best Talismans for maximum damage are the Ritual Sword Talisman, the Flock’s Canvas, the Lightning Scorpion Charm, and the Godfrey Icon.
In your Memory Slots, use Golden Vow, Vyke’s Dragonbolt, and Howl of Shabriri. Also, mix the Lightning-Shrouding Cracked Tear and Faith-knot Crystal Tear in the Flask of Wondrous Physick. The stats for this build are as follows:

Elden Ring Build #1 – Souls Driller (Strength)
This is a very underrated build, as most players do not know how to bring out its maximum potential. The primary weapon for this build is the Marais Executioner’s Sword with a +10 upgrade. Any available seal to cast the damage will work with this build.
The armor for this build will be the Briar’s Set without the helmet. The best Talismans for maximum damage are the Ritual Sword Talisman, the Shard of Alexander, Millicent’s Prosthesis, and the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia.
In your Memory Slots, use Golden Vow and Howl of Shabriri. Also, mix the Thorny Cracked Tear and Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear in the Flask of Wondrous Physick. The stats for this build are as follows:
