Demon Slayer was the most-watched anime of 2023, surpassing Jujutsu Kaisen and One Piece

Jujutsu Kaisen had quite a fantastic year, with the series grabbing a spot in the top 3 most-in-demand shows worldwide, along with Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus One Piece.

Despite these two franchises dominating other anime, the Demon Slayer anime managed to go ahead of these two in terms of watching.

The legendary series written by Koyoharu Gotouge proves its existence by still breaking records several years after the manga ended.

Not only this, but the anime managed to peak at 22.8 million, which is a massive amount, and it is due to the first two seasons’ reputation as one of the best anime programs in the world.

Season 3 of the series covered the Swordsmith Village arc, which was the foundation of the upcoming nerve-wracking battles between the Hashiras and the demons, which could break the internet if done correctly.

Although Koyoharu Gotouge’s story might have surpassed the likes of other animes in terms of watching, this number is based on Japan and not global viewership.

This arc would feature the rigorous training undergone by Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu before they took on the biggest battle of their era, which was against Muzan Kibutsuji.

It has yet to be revealed whether the upcoming season will only animate the Hashira training arc or more since it is concise and will be over in 4-5 episodes.
