Disney+’s Ahsoka series was a massive success for the studio after it was well-received by Star Wars fans. Starring Rosario Dawson, the eight-episode show was packed with action and more battle scenes that truly blew fans away.
One of the most unforgettable encounters in the series was the World Between Worlds scene. Apparently, the sequences here were not entirely rehearsed and most of them were somewhat improvised.
Rosario Dawson Explains World Between Worlds Scene In Ahsoka
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actress Rosario Dawson shared the struggles she experienced while shooting the World Between Worlds scene in Ahsoka. She remarked on the tight schedule of actors which affected their training period.
We actually didn’t really practice together. Once we started filming, it was almost impossible to be able to get us together. It was just an insane schedule, but that was actually what kind of made it a little fun.
I think [fight choreographer Ming Qiu] had a weird thing about wanting us to really have that moment be more on-camera than anything.
She noted how “the set was so wild” and how unusual it was for them because they used to shoot on the Volume, and they could see everything from there. In this particular scene, they had an area that was somewhat bare.
The scene took two full days to film. She said they had “this beautiful catwalk runway and people just watching us.” Regardless of the stress, she quipped, “It was quite a spectacle, I have to say.”
The actress praised the whole creative team for working on their magic despite the improvisations. Dawson claimed it was “magical to see what they ended up making it look like” after keying it down and asking the actors to perform on a long strip of platform.
Rosario Dawson Shares Her Hopes For Ahsoka Season 2
There hasn’t been much news on the upcoming sequel to the Ahsoka series, but Dawson admitted feeling excited about it in her interview with Comic Book. When asked if she has read the script, the actress replied in the negative, though she revealed what she hopes to see in the upcoming installment.
We get more Ahsoka, we get more Sabine. We get more of these characters in a way that – and as much as we’ve watched all of the previous shows and everything – it’s new storytelling, which is just insane to me. So I hope there’s new costumes, and I want to know what’s going on.
Hopefully, fans will have more updates on the Ahsoka series soon. The Star Wars franchise has been quite busy with the onslaught of various projects throughout the year. The sequel might potentially arrive in late 2025 or 2026.
Some of the upcoming treats for fans are The Acolyte series coming this June 4th, and Skeleton Crew, which is expected to premiere in the Christmas season.
Ahsoka Season 1 is available to watch on Disney+.
