Helldivers 2 is a game that is not built to support any mods made by the community but that did not stop cretive players. However, there is another game where the developers went above and beyond and gave the players all the tools to make their dream come true.
The Creation Kit was a the perfect gift from Bethesda Game Studios for the modding community and it only encouraged them to dream bigger and bolder. There are several mods that has been released recently but the latest one is among the more notable and favorable options.
Helldivers 2 Is Not the Only Game to Mod the Mascot of Xbox
It wasn’t long ago when director Johan Pilestedt warned that those who make use or practice the act of modding in Helldivers 2 are at risk of being banned. That did not stop modders from adding Master Chief of the Halo franchise into the game but Bethesda gave them a better and much safer option.
Cosmetic items may not do much other than help a player stand out and rarely offer any other extra perks or buff but this mod is a testament to how talented the modders are and how advanced are the tools that the developers provided. The iconic Xbox mascot is now available to download for players on the platform and it looks impressive.
Modding used to be frowned upon but it encourages the players to be creative and go beyond the limits. While Arrowhead Game Studios did not envision its live service game to be a digital playground for modders to practice on, Bethesda Game Studios has them covered with the proprietary Creation Kit.
Starfield Is the Perfect Playground for the Modding Community
There is no limit to what these modders can do, at one point, they managed to include Zack Snyder’s version of Batman from the Justice League movie as a downloadable mod. Perhaps more characters from various franchises will be available to use one day.
While Pilestedt does have the intention of developing a game that has an official support system for modders, he made it clear that Helldivers 2 is not that game and it would be best for the players to play the game as it is and not tamper with it any further. Modding can sometimes desecrate a game and it is not ideal for a live service.
Bethesda realized the untapped potential of modding and used it to the game’s advantage. The advanced features and options of the Creation Kit will give the players complete freedom to pursue their vision without anything to hold them back which is groundbreaking.
Game developers should follow the steps of Bethesda and give the players the right instruments to do what they love. Perhaps Arrowhead Studios will take inspiration from this feature and apply it to future projects and usher the golden age of modding in video games.
