After Jonathan Majors’ court trial resulted in the jury finding him guilty on two charges – one for assault and one for harassment – the actor was dropped by Marvel Studios. Having worked on projects like Fear the Walking Dead, Lincoln, 42, and so on, actor Colman Domingo has recently made history by becoming the first Afro-Latino man nominated for Best Actor at the upcoming Academy Awards. And now, rumors are circulating that Colman Domingo will be replacing Jonathan Majors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Colman Domingo Replacing Jonathan Majors in the MCU?
During his interview with Vanity Fair, Colman Domingo was asked about the rumors going around about him playing “a certain Marvel character.” The actor saw this coming from a mile away as he replied,
“I know what you’re going to ask. You’re going to talk about the MCU. It’s funny how people are online talking about this. And the moment it started happening, literally, I think I was on my couch. And I was like, What rumor? Who? Where’s this coming from? I just didn’t think about it. The next day I woke up, it’s everywhere.”
When asked if there was any truth to the rumor and whether Domingo would be replacing Jonathan Majors or not, the actor replied as vaguely as possible, stating,
“You know, listen. My team has had conversations with Marvel about some aspect of the MCU for years. Do I know this to be true or not? I actually don’t know. I feel like my team doesn’t bring me something unless it’s real. So I don’t know. I could be in conversation, but I’m not sure. I would welcome a conversation around it. Whatever they’re working out with Jonathan [Majors] and his legacy in the MCU, I feel like I just have to be in my own lane, whatever that is. There’s hearsay, there’s conversations, but I’m not even sure because I feel like nothing comes to me until something’s real. But I’d be down with it.”
Well, either Domingo actually has no idea about what’s going on between his team and Marvel Studios, or he is just really good at hiding secrets! Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if Domingo’s Kang officially gets announced by the Studios anytime soon.

After Majors’ departure, the fate of Kang has been left quite blurry with no one knowing what’s to come for the character in the near future.
