After all the trash talk for months, Ryan Garcia has emerged victorious over Devin Haney in the WBC super lightweight title match. Despite his first loss, Haney did not have to concede his title since Garcia missed the weight, becoming ineligible for the fight. Garcia won the match after a majority decision ruled in favor of him.
Garcia has been known to make some unwarranted comments on social media that often tread the creepy line. His antics include making ill comments about Haney’s association with Diddy and announcing that he and Kylie Jenner are dating on social media.
Ryan Garcia Knocked Down Devin Haney In A Surprising Turn Of Events
Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney went for the full 12-round war before the former was declared the winner by the majority decision. The loss is a first in the career of Haney, and it was the first time that he had been knocked down to the canvas.
Garcia gained the upper hand right from the beginning when he landed a big left hook in the first round that rattled the champion. In the seventh round of the match, Haney went down after taking a left hook to the chin. While Haney fought back in rounds 8 & 9, he was once again knocked down by another big left hook.
Garcia’s punches kept on coming, and he knocked down the undefeated champion for a third time in round 11. Haney tried to regain the match with a knockout in the last round, but Garcia spent most of his time taunting the champion. By the end of all the rounds, Haney had convincingly lost the match.
Ryan Garcia Shut Down His Haters During His Post-Fight Speech
After the match, when the commentator asked Ryan Garcia about his left hook that knocked down Haney three times, he shared that it was blessed by God. He further added that his haters overrated Haney’s skills and hated him because he was a pretty boy.
However, he added that he had been boxing his whole life and tried to help the children whenever he could, even if it meant putting his reputation on the line. He shared during the after-fight talk (via Matchroom Boxing):
“You guys overrate everything. You guys hate on me cuz I’m pretty and sh*t. At the end of the day, I’ve been boxing my whole life and all I do is love God and try to help the children. You guys do not love the truth. The truth is I put my f**king reputation on the line for all the kids in the world.”
Ryan Garcia’s only regret from this match would be missing the weights, which effectively lost him a WBC belt. Since the championship title remains unclaimed, a rematch might be in the cards.
Ryan Garcia Had A Pretty Questionable Reputation Before The Match
Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney were engaged in a violent altercation before the match, on April 13, Saturday. The champion shoved Garcia in the face, who had been continuously mocking him, calling him a “b*tch” (via Total Pro Sports).
Garcia shared the event on social media, making some derogatory remarks about Haney’s relationship with Diddy, who was accused of s*xual assault.
Bro I thought he was going in for a kiss no cap
Diddy got him good
Devin whispered in my ear saying “come” do me like diddy DADDY

Earlier this month, fans found another one of Garcia’s creepy social media posts. He shared a merged photo of him and Kylie Jenner with the caption, “Ryan Garcia and Kylie Jenner Dating, Reported” (via Marca). Garcia also left a creepy message for Jenner under the post, professing his love for her.
Some fans were genuinely concerned about the boxer after he continued to make such creepy claims about Jenner. Hopefully, with the win, Garcia will be able to put these antics behind him and focus on the upcoming WBC matches.
