“I’m too old for it now, I think that ship has probably sailed. Yeah, that whole Wolverine thing – I get asked about it and no matter what you say, it gets turned into what people want you to say about it. I’m not going to be the guy to play Wolverine. This has come as a big blow to MCU fans who felt that the character of Wolverine was tailor-made for the star after he allegedly turned down the role of Cyclops too, for the X Men prequels. But it is still possible that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the actor and the MCU.

There seems to be a glimmer of hope, from this comment that Taron Egerton has not completely dismissed the idea of an MCU film just yet. The X-Men prequels and the Fantastic Four in particular have roles that could entice the Kingsman actor to take the plunge. But it will surely be, if at all, only in the distant future. Despite the welsh star stating age as a concern, it is still a popular belief among fans that, at age 34, Taron Egerton has many more years to explore the Marvel world.
