For those who are unaware, Gillis and Bud Light are partnering after a disappointing year for the latter. This was announced in an Instagram post by the comedian-actor.

Megyn Kelly Will Not Support Shane Gillis’ Bud Light Endorsement 

A remarkably poised host and anchor, Megyn Kelly found herself embroiled in yet another controversy, this time involving comedian Shane Gillis. Not surprisingly, the former Fox News anchor attacked Gillis for pulling the Bud Light endorsement, calling it a “slur” against Republicans.

This week, Gillis, 36, announced on his social media that he was working with the Anheuser-Busch-owned company. The brand was attacked by significant portions of the right after transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney promoted Bud Light in a social media campaign (via the LA Times).

Kelly pointed her criticism at Gillis and other celebrities who “bend the knee to Bud Light”. She made the following statement on The Megyn Kelly Show, (via the NY Post). 

“He went from doing slurs the left finds upsetting to issuing one out of his mouth the right finds upsetting, which is Bud Light. I’m actually not sure what he’s doing either because not only is he going on ‘SNL,’ but he’s partnering with Bud Light, which is basically a slur in Republican circles.”

We learned from NPR that five years ago, Gillis’ homophobic and racist comments on a podcast caused him to be fired from the SNL cast. The comedian showed his support for Anheuser-Busch, the beer manufacturer, at a recent visit to the brewery in St. Louis, Missouri.

Plastic Surgery Controversy Sparked By Erin Moriarty And Megyn Kelly

The heated discussion Erin Moriarty and Megyn Kelly had on plastic surgery lighted up the internet across all social media platforms. It even forced the former to take a temporary hiatus from social media. The comments made by the former Fox News host regarding Moriarty’s appearance set the whole thing off. Kelly discussed what she termed a “societal addiction to plastic surgery” on her show, using Moriarty as an example.

She even showed pictures of Moriarty, saying they were taken recently and that her cheekbones and nose had changed. Kelly didn’t mince words, saying she found it troubling and wanted to reach out to young girls, urging them not to go down the same path.

That was something Moriarty was not going to overlook. She revealed her deepest emotions in a lengthy Instagram post, stating that she had not expected to receive such offensive remarks. She wrote,

“This is something I truly never anticipated writing. We’re all subject to levels of bullying throughout our lives but I am horrified.”

She corrected Kelly’s information by pointing out that the “before” picture was taken many years ago. In her post, Moriarty made it apparent that this mess was the reason she was taking a break from social mediaShe went so far as to imply that her account might be “deactivated” for a bit. As she said, 

“To receive a message about a disgustingly false, counterproductive to the degree of being ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly commenting on the manner — to learn the widespread nature of this has left me horrified.”

The entire situation sparked discussions. Moriarty’s fans were very supportive of her, and the whole episode sparked some interesting debate about how the media covers celebrities. Nevertheless, the actress returned to Instagram after a period of absence. She gave her supporters her sincere gratitude.
