Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine aka Deadpool 3 is expected to be a huge blockbuster, based on the reactions the movie’s trailer has been getting. The only Marvel Studios movie releasing this year, the trailer of the movie has already created a record for being the most viewed movie trailer within the first 24 hours with over 356 million views in total.
While Hugh Jackman’s return has created a considerable buzz, it is the many Easter Eggs the movie’s trailer has offered that has made fans so relentless to watch it. And after the rumors of Jennifer Garner’s return as Elektra, one Deadpool star has confirmed there will be many more cameos from characters we never anticipated.
Deadpool Star Confirms Deadpool 3 Will Feature Several Cameos
Seeing the audience’s reaction and the movie’s impeccable trailer, Deadpool 3 is certainly slated to either become one of the biggest Marvel movies of all time, or turn out to be a disappointment. But seeing the track record of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman‘s return as Wolverine, the former seems more likely to happen.
Adding to the movie’s popularity is its huge cast, including all the old and the new characters that are rumored to join. After introducing Matthew Macfadyen as Agent Paradox, there are countless rumors that the upcoming movie will have many surprise appearances including rumored Jennifer Garner as Elektra.
And now, actor Karan Soni, who plays Dopinder in all the three Deadpool movies, has teased that there will be several cameos in the threequel while talking to Variety.
“This new MCU version is ultra-secretive. There are a lot of surprises. Let’s just say a lot of people traveled to London.”
Stated Soni referring to the movie’s shooting location. While he also revealed that Reynolds was plotting for years to have Jackman in the third movie, his revelation that there would be many unexpected appearances of characters we least expect has fans buzzing with excitement (via X).
Jennifer Garner To Star As Elektra In Deadpool 3?
Jennifer Garner appeared as Elektra in the 2003 movie Daredevil, and later in her standalone film Elektra (2005). While the latter flopped and the former was an okay success, her starring as the assassin has been well received. And so, fans have been eagerly waiting for some Marvel multiverse magic to bring her back.
While Variety confirmed that the actress will be reprising her role, Garner, in an interview with Collider, stated that she doesn’t have any knowledge that she would be appearing as Elektra ever again. Garner’s comment did seem confusing but it might be that she must be being secretive to not give her cameo away.
Yet as per the US Copyright Office, Deadpool & Wolverine also lists her name as Elektra in the casting. Even though these are still speculations with nothing definitive confirmed as of yet, it is safe to say Deadpool 3 will be Avengers: Endgame-like project when it comes to casting.
Deadpool & Wolverine will be in theatres July 26, 2024.
