Amy Adams Assisted in the Batman Begins‘ Auditions

Christian Bale’s audition tape for the lead role in The Dark Knight trilogy shed some new light. Alongside stars like Cillian Murphy and Eion Bailey, Bale also auditioned for the character. And the audition tape reveals the actor auditioning alongside him, Amy Adams.

The Machinist star can be seen in Val Kilmer’s suit from the 1995 film Batman Forever, and the future Lois Lane can be seen reading the part of Rachel Dawes in the audition. According to the Enchanted star, she was so moved by his performance that she ended up crying during the audition. The director of the film, Christopher Nolan, was also surprised to see her breaking down.

The actress reportedly read the part in the audition as a favor to the film’s casting director John Papsidera. Actress Katie Holmes was eventually cast as Bruce Wayne’s love interest and Gotham’s assistant DA, Rachel Dawes, in the 2005 film Batman Begins.
