The actress won her first Academy Award for her work in Les Misérables, and following her win she was dubbed as the ‘most annoying celebrity’. The actress continued to share with Vanity Fair,

“I had an angle in Christopher Nolan, who did not care about that and gave me one of the most beautiful roles I’ve had in one of his best films that I’ve been part of. I don’t know if he knew that he was backing me at the time, but it had the effect. And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn’t backed me.”

The actress was cast as Dr. Amelia Brand, a NASA scientist, and astronaut in Interstellar alongside Matthew McConaughey. The movie received a positive response from the audience and the critics and the performances of the actors were highly lauded. Hathaway and Christopher Nolan had previously worked on 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
