Appearing on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Jessica Biel discussed her honest response to the title. Being shocked after getting crowned the Sexiest Woman Alive in 2005, Biel noted wondering if there was some mistake. Addressing how she reacted to the honor, the actress made her audience laugh with her response.

After appearing in a number of renowned projects like 7th Heaven, Elizabethtown, and Stealth, Jessica Biel rose to fame at a young age. Not only that, but the actress also paved her way in the entertainment industry as the Sexiest Women Alive in 2005. According to Esquire magazine, Biel was considered the epitome of beauty and womanhood, following Angelina Jolie, who was honored with the same title in 2004.
Speaking with Yahoo Entertainment, Esquire’s editor-in-chief David Granger noted the reasons behind considering Jessica Biel for the title. Claiming that it was a challenge for them to come up with somebody who was on everyone’s radar just like Angelina Jolie, Granger revealed Biel was their greatest choice.
“It seemed like it would be great — having named Angelina Jolie sexiest woman of the year last year — to try to come up with somebody who was on everyone’s radar screen, but who was also fresh. It just seemed like Jessica Biel’s moment… It’s easy to appreciate womanhood without any consideration of age. Youth isn’t the automatic turn-on it used to be.”
Thereafter, Jessica Biel was honored with the title of the Sexiest Women Alive in 2005 by Esquire magazine. While the title was an incredible honor, the actress was apparently shocked to get crowned after an indomitable icon like Jolie.
Jessica Biel’s Response to Being Crowned by Esquire
After getting crowned as the Sexiest Women Alive, Jessica Biel appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, in 2005. During her presence on the talk show, Biel opened up about her honest response to her honorable title. With the host asking if the actress faced a surge in public pressure after getting crowned, Biel noted her immediate reaction.
“Yeah, it does feel like a lot. I mean I sort of feel like, ‘are you sure? Did you pick right?’ I mean I feel like my parents must have voted for me. I mean or paid them off, or something.”
Hearing about how Jessica Biel felt about being crowned with the esteemed title, Conan O’Brien noted that if her parents tipped the magazine “that would be weird”. Responding to O’Brien’s comments, Biel was quick to note that she was extremely flattered, but she was also in major shock.
“I feel completely flattered and honored but it’s just, it’s bizarre.”
Conan O’Brien admitted Jessica Biel’s honest response to the title but then asked her about her decision of never being n*de on screen, despite posing in an alluring manner for Esquire. Biel admitted using body double for her naked scenes and she’s the one who picks and chooses the actresses. Admitting that it’s a weird decision and experience, the actress moved on with her conversation.
