Ubisoft claims that Assassin’s Creed Red, one of the franchise’s most ambitious games, will finally take place in Japan. This is one of the two announced projects with codenames, with Assassin’s Creed Jade, that apparently will be delayed until 2025.
Thanks to new leaks, there are new details about key changes that will come to Assassin’s Creed Red, like fewer markers; apparently, the game will reward exploration like Elden Ring. The map will be bigger than Valhalla but smaller than Odyssey. Ubisoft is planning to launch Assassin’s Creed Red this year.
Assassin’s Creed Red has a lot of potential and will implement several mechanics from Elden Ring
Ubisoft is really hoping that Assassin’s Creed Red will be a complete hit, after the latest titles of the franchise were not what fans expected. The franchise is going through a weird fatigue and has not delivered the core AC experience that the fandom wants; these titles are not selling what they could. New leaks are pointing out that Assassin’s Creed Red will have many welcomed changes that could revive the franchise in the way the fans want. These new features were posted on Reddit.
Cygus_Lorman, a Reddit user, shared various key details about the upcoming additions to Assassin’s Creed Red. Some of these particular features are things that you have already seen in games like Elden Ring. These leaks come from French sources, and this Reddit post is a translation.
The map will reward exploration and provide less guidance for players. For now, there will be fewer markers on the map. Players will have a grappling hook like Sekiro: Shadows die Twice, this hook can be used to move through buildings.
The stealth will be the most important thing in Assassin’s Creed Red
Another new feature that Assassin’s Creed Red will have is the ability to go prone like stealth-based games such as Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid. Grass will be key to hiding; there will be different types.
The shadow will be another place to hide; you can extinguish torches to create a place to hide in the darkness. Ninja weapons like Shuriken, Kunais, and smoke bombs will be part of the arsenal of one of the two main characters. It will be a posture bar like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. NPCs will be a lot harder to defeat; they will defend very well.
Apparently, there will be a new spy system that will reward you with a possible spy if you spare the lives of certain NPCs. At the graphic level, Assassin’s Creed Red will be better than other previous entries, like Mirage. Some enemies will also have guns, apart from Japanese weapons like Katanas or Kodachi.
What are your thoughts about the new leak mechanics in Assassin’s Creed Red?
