Constant updating is a necessity for a live service game, it is not something that developers can yearly reproduce due to the cost. Infinity Ward managed to develop Warzone 2.0, a sequel to the first Warzone title but fans are slamming it for being a much worse version than the original. Call of Duty has been around for decades but so are its technical issues that are holding it back.

Fan favorites like the HRM-9 will be nerfed which will upset players who are fond of the powerful and efficient submachine gun.

The fact that the latest patch buffed the riot shield which is one of the worst items in Call of Duty history feels like an insult to longtime players of the franchise. Typically used to troll opposing players, the riot shield buff just encouraged players to make grief others. Gear efficiency can be annoying and an inconvenience, regardless of how skilled a player can be, it will be futile if their equipment is not working as it was intended or if they are faced with an overpowered weapon.

The game engine is basically an antique at this point, it was altered and changed to keep up with new and modern content but it is running on fumes and showing its age. Dr. Disrespect deduced that the engine is one of the main problems for updates in Call of Duty.

Updates And Patches Are Not Enough, Call Of Duty: Warzone Needs A Major Overhaul

Call of Duty: Warzone can't sustain all the new updates and changes which leaves weapons and equipment to become unbalanced.

The recent update and content change from S2 Reloaded featured an overpowered Jak Purifier and earlier this month the throwing knives were also nerfed for the sake of balance a little more realistic effect. These unbalanced weapons have generated mixed fan reception and at this point, they are already used to it.

Call of Duty is one of the biggest gaming franchises of all time and has elevated each of their titles for the better regardless of how similar and how small the differences can be, Activision is fully committed to the IP. Fans have supported this game since it launched and their loyalty and enthusiasm was rewarded with unbalanced gameplay, and lobbies full of hackers and cheaters. The developers need to up their game and do better.
