The Narcos fame earlier came to fans’ notice with his charm in season 4 of the show, Game of Thrones. He played the role of Oberyn Martell of Westeros. Among all his scenes in the seven-episode run of the actor, it was the barbaric death scene that went viral. The character’s eyes were gouged out by his opponent Gregor Clegane aka The Mountain, in a duel.
After the show, Pedro Pascal became popular for the scene, and numerous fans took selfies with him as they put their thumbs on his eyes. The actor shared in an interview that because of these selfies, he once got an eye infection.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor shared,
“I remember, earlier on, because of Game of Thrones and the way my character died — speaking of touching — people were super into taking selfies with their thumbs in my eyes.”
“And at first, I was so earnest and happy about the success of the character in the show, I’d let them! And then I remember getting a bit of an eye infection.”
