Fans Doubtful of Seeing Invincible Return For Seasons 4 and 5 Despite Renewal Reports
The second season of Invincible concluded with the season finale dropping on April 4, 2024, while a third season had already been ordered back in 2021. On April 15, 2024, it was reported that the series had received additional renewal orders for seasons four and five. However, given the over two-year wait between seasons 1 and 2 fans doubt the new installment will hit their screens anytime soon.

As the tweets indicate, fans aren’t expecting to see the new seasons premiering shortly, especially after the delays faced by season 2. The second season was announced in April 2021 but did not premiere until November 2023. Even then, the series dropped only four episodes, before going on a break and returning in March 2024.
Given the unusual and uneven release schedule of the second season, fans were certainly justified when they trolled the reported renewal of Invincible for seasons 4 and 5. However, showrunner Simon Racioppa has assured fans that the wait between future seasons will be significantly less. Nonetheless, there is still no known timeline for the production of the impending third season.
Additional Seasons of Invincible Reportedly Not Confirmed Just Yet
The news of Invincible being renewed for seasons 4 and 5 first broke when Robert Kirkman‘s Skybound launched a crowdfunding initiative for a video game based on the comic book title. In a piece of information shared on the crowdfunding page, it was reported that the animated series had been renewed for a fourth and fifth installment.
However, the detail has since been removed from the page with only the mention of the third season remaining intact. Moreover, Amazon Prime Video, the show’s primary streaming home, has yet to announce its future beyond a third season. Given that Amazon hasn’t officially commented on the matter, it is safe to say that only a third season is a guarantee at the moment.
Shortly after the crowdfunding initiative came to light and seemingly confirmed the additional seasons, a new report from IGN debunked it. According to the report, a source told the publication that seasons 4 and 5 of Invincible weren’t confirmed just yet. Therefore, until Amazon Prime Video officially renews the series for additional seasons, fans should take the initial report with a grain of salt.
