Daredevil: Born Again will greatly contrast its original Netflix series. As new reports and theories indicate, the upcoming MCU show for Disney+ may have events beyond what the predecessor series had not dared to attempt.

Also, the show is expected to be darker and grittier. As the show’s episodes are being filmed, reports indicate that the new show may witness the saddest MCU death in recent times. It could be very hard for the MCU fans.

Plotting Big, Marvel Is Likely To Kill Off Two Prominent Characters

Marvel Studios may have been gambling with characters as they have reportedly shifted their focus to Daredevil’s feud with Kingpin more than anything. However, there will not just be one villain. But what about the supporting characters? Fans are certainly looking for Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Wool’s iconic duo Foggy Nelson and Karen Page to come back.

Henson and Wool were recently seen on the set of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil: Born Again. The duo was long been rumored to appear on the show. As per insider Daniel Richtman, Foggy and Karen are returning to the show, and their episodes are currently being filmed.

However, with the return of the Daredevil villain, Bullseye may not extend the screentime of Foggy and Karen. Bringing back Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye is exciting, but he is likely to kill off the fan-favorite duo. Their death will be one of the saddest deaths in MCU as fans have adored the characters and were rooting for their return with extended screentime. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is also set to appear in the show.

Will Daredevil: Born Again Be Gory?

Marvel Studios is not very keen on turning their on-screen narratives gory. There is minimal bloodshed and well-curated violence to hide the sense of gore, Deadpool is exempted from the discussion for obvious reasons. Now the question remains: Will MCU’s very own Daredevil follow its predecessor?

There is another side to the character, and MCU might just explore that as per Cox. “This has to be a reincarnation. It has to be different. Otherwise, why are we doing it?” he asked NME, hinting at the shift in his character arc. Also, his surprising cameo in the Disney+ show She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has reflected a lighter version of Daredevil as he went on to have a one-night stand with the title character Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany). So, Matt Murdock can also be “quick-witted and funny and charismatic and carefree at times.”

“My opinion is this character works best when he’s geared towards a slightly more mature audience. My instinct is that on Disney+ it will be dark but it probably won’t be as gory.”

Marvel has put a lot of faith in the Cox-starrer show, which can be well-reflected in the 18-episode nod. The Disney+ show is currently in production and expected to wrap in December.

Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled for the 2025 Disney+ premiere.
