The world of DC comics has always been an incredible playground of imagination and creativity where even fans have eagerly participated each step of the way. With James Gunn rebooting the entire DC verse and ushering in a new era of the DC mythos, fans have been eagerly participating and creating fan art of the new ensemble of actors, such as David Corenswet, ready to don the superhero mantle.
Corenswet, the new Man of Steel, has become a popular choice of fans, fan arts, and fan theories. In recent fan art, one DC fan created the most accurate Rebirth-style Superman costume, which other fans have certainly loved.
David Corenswet’s DC Fan Art Makes Him The Perfect Rebirth Superman
When James Gunn announced David Corenswet as the new Superman, after firing Henry Cavill from the job, fans certainly had mixed reactions. Salty over the loss of Cavill, his casting was initially dealt with skepticism. However, seeing the actor and his physicality and his uncanny resemblance to iconic Superman actors like Cavill, Christopher Reeve, and Brandon Routh, has made him a fan-favorite now.
Ever since his casting announcement till now, there has been a flood of fan art, depicting him in numerous iconic Superman suits including one from Superman: Rebirth. The Superman: Rebirth comics marked a return to the core values and essence of the incredible DC hero, just as James Gunn’s upcoming Superman is going to do by taking the hero back to its core and traditionalistic values (see CBR).
In a fan art posted by X user @jobhutz, Corenswet is featured in the iconic blue suit with an incredible cape and matching red boots. No armor, seams, or cuffs, the suit also doesn’t have the iconic red underwear that the hero usually is seen in. A favorite suit of many fans, Corenswet looks incredible in the art and other DC fans have since been loving the look.

David Corenswet looks undeniably handsome in the red and blue suit, for not only does the suit encapsulate the essence of the new DC era but its classic design symbolizes the character’s iconic image of a friendly and revered superhero. Ever since the fan posted the fan art online, others have been loving the look and this is how many DC loyalists reacted to the post:
This is the one. The more I have time to think on it, the more I think it'll probably have trunks. But it shouldn't, it should be this.

Not only did the others truly digged the look but some fans are also pleading and hoping that Gunn actually takes inspiration from this design. Meanwhile, Gunn himself revealed that Superman: Legacy is now Superman, and even posted a sneak peek of the logo which looks undeniably like the one in the fan art (via Instagram).
Superman will be in theatres on July 11, 2025.
