The big boss at DC dropped a bombshell after the first day of shooting: Superman: Legacy is now just Superman.

Yep, you heard it right. In an Instagram post on Friday, Gunn spilled the beans about the title change, coincidentally on Superman’s birthday. Gunn shared,

“Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on SUPERMAN today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman’s birthday.”

He also spilled the beans on the release date: July next year. Gunn spilled more tea, revealing that he originally named the film Superman: Legacy in the first draft. But as he fine-tuned the script, it became clear: it’s just Superman now.
