David Corenswet’s Superman movie, which would mark a reboot for the DC Universe, will be launching into the market by 2025, and recent updates have fans awaiting it even more eagerly than ever before. While previously it was a set photo of the entire cast of the upcoming movie shared by James Gunn on his socials, this time it’s something even more special.
This comes after Gunn once again took to his Instagram to share the exciting news about the shooting of the upcoming film all the while making a revelation about the film’s title. Then there was the surprise hinted by the co-CEO of DC Universe, Peter Safran’s wife Natalia Safran, which has further made this update all the more exhilarating for the DC fans!
Natalia Safran’s Statement on Upcoming Superman Film is Beyond-Exciting!
Recently, co-CEO of DC Universe, James Gunn took to his Instagram handle @jamesgunn to share with fans that the principal photography of the soon-to-be-released film that would mark the reboot of the DCU has been officially started.
What’s more, is that this notably started on the very day that marks Clark Kent’s birthday! Posting a cropped image showing only the part of the Man of Steel’s new suit for the upcoming DCU film that could show fans the giant iconic ‘S’ logo in red covered slightly in snow, Gunn captioned:
“Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on SUPERMAN today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman’s birthday.”
Adding to this, James Gunn made yet another revelation: The film has been retitled to be just ‘SUPERMAN’ now. He wrote:
“When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN. Making our way to you July 2025. #HappyBirthdayClark #LeapYear #UpUpandAway”
Yet, even that isn’t all. While these two critical pieces of news disclosed by Gunn had fans already swooning in response, co-CEO of DCU Peter Safran‘s wife Natalia Safran’s further surprising revelation has fans legit jumping in excitement.
Reposting James Gunn’s original post, Natalia Safran took to her own Instagram handle @nataliasafran to first wish happy birthday to Clark Kent and then teased something about a “footage” of the superhero. She wrote:
“And he is off! 🚀 Happy Birthday Superman, happy 1st Day of filming – I totally teared up looking at this photo 🥲 Just wait till you see this footage..⚡️”
From her statement, it can only be derived that she was talking about some footage of David Corenswet presumably in the fan-favorite superhero’s suit — something that she has seemingly already seen but the fans haven’t.
If fans were only excited about the principal photography on the upcoming film of Kal-El starting, this striking revelation about there being footage of David Corenswet as the Kryptonian superhero has left fans utterly exhilarated.

While reposting James Gunn’s original post, if Natalia Safran intended to make fans get hyped up to the core by teasing about the footage of Corenswet’s Superman, she would be glad to know that her plan most certainly worked.

Although Mrs. Safran did tease David Corenswet’s footage as Kal-El, she did not reveal when this footage will be released for fans to see. Nonetheless, judging from fans’ already pumped-up reactions, it seems that the recently renamed film would be a major success regardless!
SUPERMAN is set to hit the theatres on the 11th of July, 2025.
