A couple of months back, James Gunn stated that the Superman: Legacy suit will not be revealed before the movie starts filming. But there’s an update regarding it from Rachel Brosnahan, who will play the role of Lois Lane. The 33-year-old actress recently teased the new Man of Steel suit that will be worn by co-star David Corenswet in Superman: Legacy.

Rachel Brosnahan has become the fourth actress to play the iconic DC Comics character on the big screen after Margot Kidder, Kate Bosworth, and Amy Adams. Superman: Legacy, which will be the first feature film of the DCU, will see David Corenswet joined by Nicholas Hoult, who plays the supervillain Lex Luthor.

Rachel Brosnahan Talks about the News Superman Suit

Rachel Brosnahan, on the SAG Awards 2024 red carpet Saturday night, told Netflix that she, along with the rest of the cast of Superman: Legacy, recently had their first table read for the upcoming reboot. When she was asked to share some exciting updates about the Superman suit, she described the new suit as “amazing,” though nothing further has been said.

We just had our first table read for Superman: Legacy, so that’s up next,” Brosnahan said.

Brosnahan added,

So, I’m not going to be the person who starts spilling the tea! We did our first table read… I saw the suit. It looks amazing. And I cannot wait for everyone to see it.

While speaking with Deadline about the same, she said:

I got to see the suit, and I was blown away, so I hope that the fans are as well.”

The absence of Superman’s famous red trunks in Man of Steel disappointed many fans. Director Zack Snyder wanted to include Superman’s red underwear in Henry Cavill’s suit but eventually managed with the new 52-inspired outfit. They had a feeling that it suited the look and feel of his film better.

James Gunn confirmed the casting of David Corenswet and Brosnahan on X (formerly known as Twitter) in June 2023, writing, “Accurate! (They are not only both incredible actors, but also wonderful people).”

The film also includes Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Anthony Carrigan, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Terence Rosemore, and María Gabriela de Faría.

Rachel Brosnahan Has Shared Her Excitement to Play The Role

Rachel Brosnahan, who is set to portray Lois Lane in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, shared that her portrayal of the iconic character will be both “feisty” and “intelligent.

Sharing her excitement during an interview with Sky News, she admitted that she has “big shoes to fill.”

We have big shoes to fill. But we’re excited to try to fill them. I think the best part about working on this has been that, from top to bottom, from James [Gunn] to Peter Safran, everyone at DC, and David [Corenswet]…we’re all just nerds for this stuff.

In another chat with Entertainment Tonight, she highlighted the thoughtful approach to Superman’s DCU debut.

I’ve enjoyed the collaboration with James Gunn so far. Every single person involved with this production is such a perfect nerd for Superman. We all grew up watching the movies and some of us grew up reading the comics.

Production of the much-anticipated film is reportedly scheduled to get underway this March. As audiences await how Brosnahan brings the character into the big screen, and if she can match the hype, we will have to wait and watch.
