After going through a major overhaul last December, with each passing report, Daredevil: Born Again seems to be more on track with its Netflix predecessor than being completely its own thing. And while it was initially reported that the heart of the Netflix series, Foggy and Karen, wasn’t jumping ships to the MCU, thanks to its creative overhaul, it was reported that they’re indeed making a return.
But it’s not all sunshine and roses for fans of the characters, as following the rumors surrounding their return, it seems like the duo’s stay in the MCU might be short-lived, especially Karen’s.
Things Might Be More Depressing Than It Appears for Foggy and Karen
The BTS video for Born Again finally confirmed the reports of Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll’s return, who can be seen reuniting with Charlie Cox‘s Matt Murdock. However, things might be more depressing in the video than it appears at first viewing, as theories emerged stressing that the events might be taking place just before the snap. Considering Murdock can be seen wearing his old specs, some have speculated the scene might be taking place before the events of Infinity War, possibly in a flashback.
But even if this isn’t the case, things are still a bit dimmer for the duo, especially Karen, who has been rumored to appear in only three episodes. Furthermore, the reports of a returning character have further led many to believe that Karen might meet her end pretty early on in the show.
Bullseye’s Seeming Return in Daredevil: Born Again Might Turn out Deadly for Karen
Per Deadline, Wilson Bethel, who made a lasting impression on fans with his take on the popular villain Bullseye in the Netflix series, is set to reprise his part in Born Again. But the point to be noted here is his apparent episode count, as he is reported to be only in three episodes of the show, similar to that of Karen, who too has been rumored to appear only in three episodes. And following the comic storyline of Born Again, in which Bullseye is the one to kill off Karen, it’s reasonable to see why many have been led to believe the beloved character’s stay in MCU might be short-lived.

With no release date still in sight, more speculations are bound to arise about what Daredevil: Born Again might hold for the beloved characters from the Netflix series. And considering things have been hit or miss for the MCU, especially in TV, with Daredevil: Born Again’s production following a more traditional approach, fans will hope the MCU does justice to Matt Murdock.
