Ana de Armas’ Ballerina Would Take a Different Step From Keanu Reeves’ John Wick
There’s no denying that Keanu Reeves’ John Wick is one of the best action franchises that features the most satisfying and well-choreographed fight scenes. The films keep the fans on the edge of their seats as they witness the visceral action scenes mixed with a pinch of humor. The fans were excited as Chad Stahelski shared that they wanted to expand the universe, with Ballerina being the first spin-off film from the John Wick universe.
While fans believed Ana de Armas’ Ballerina would be similar to John Wick, Ian McShane, who portrays the role of Winston Scott in the franchise, believed otherwise. During an exclusive interview, with Variety, McShane shared Ballerina is going to be “very different,” because Chad Stahelski, the director of the John Wick films, has immense faith in the veteran actor.
“‘Ballerina’ is very different. We had these three scenes and we added another couple of scenes at the Continental. Chad trusts me with knowing my character, so I try to bring a little twist to it each time.”
In the same interview, Variety mentioned how Chad Stahelski mentioned how they want to “deliver two uniquely special experiences,” to their fans. While Ian McShane shared his opinion on Ballerina being different, Ana De Armas shares her experience of working with Keanu Reeves in the film.
Ana De Armas Showers Keanu Reeves With Praises Despite Leaving Her in Bruises
During an episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the Black Water actress shared that it is not everyone’s cup of tea to work alongside Keanu Reeves. She told the host, how working in Ballerina was a different experience for her, as the scene was a major upgrade from the sequence in the Bond film, No Time To Die.
“I’m in pain. You know, my body, my back, everything hurts. I’m complaining, I’m sore, I’m bruised. Bond was fifteen minutes. This is a whole movie, another level.”
She added that Reeves is the best, as he is doing the action scenes without any complaints.
“But the other day, Keanu and I were rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene, and this man is just rolling and throwing me and doing crazy stunts. And I’m like — I can’t complain anymore. Because he is doing it! He truly is the best.”
Fans have high expectations from Ana De Armas as she has done several action roles in her career. However, stakes would be higher than ever, as Ballerina is a spin-off from the John Wick franchise.
Ballerina is set to release in theatres on 7th June 2024.
