Disney’s Frozen happens to be arguably one of the most renowned franchises, as both films happen to generate massive revenue for them. The critically acclaimed animated film franchise started a decade back, that narrated the stories of two sisters, Anna and Elsa who try to restore their relationships and save their kingdom from doom. Besides a gripping plot, the film had an outstanding animation and was praised immensely for the songs it featured.
As a result, Jennifer Lee, the Chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios announced in a recent interview about the future of the Frozen franchise and how they are immensely excited to share that they are working on a third and possibly a fourth film as well. The announcement has divided the fan base, as they share their concerns regarding the franchise on social media.
Jennifer Lee Announces Frozen 3
Frozen films happen to maintain their popularity, as both films have managed to accumulate a massive fan base around the world. Both, the first and the second films had broken box office records at the time of their release, as the sequel happens to be the second highest-grossing animated film of all time.
During an exclusive interview with The Walt Disney Company, Jennifer Lee was asked about more about Frozen 3. She answered how they would love to repeat the success that they had with the first two films, and how they can not keep the story limited to a third film, hinting that they are potentially working on a fourth film as well.
“Only what we have already shared, which is the team is hard at work, we are deeply excited about the story we are shaping together, and it’s so epic it may not fit into just one film.”
Although Jennifer Lee was excited to share the good news among the fans of the franchise, instead of getting the fans jumping with excitement, it got them concerned as they shared their views on X.

Frozen 3’s Announcement Receives a Negative Response From The Fans
Even though both films had received immense love from their viewers, the soundtracks featured in the films such as Love Is An Open Door, Let It Go, and Into the Unknown were ranked on the US Billboard Hot 100 as well. However, the excitement of a third film has faded among the fans as they believe that Disney is trying to milk the franchise.
As the announcement by Jennifer Lee received the fans of the franchise, they immediately went to X to tweet their concerns and how Disney is hellbent on ruining the fan-favorite franchise.
Jennifer Lee has had nothing but failure after failure after failure, with the exception of Frozen 2 which is already in development before John Lasseter was fired. Frozen 3 will make money off the name alone but I don’t think it will go further than that

Another fan stated how annoyed they are with Disney as they tend to set up films for a sequel, something they should avoid as these films are meant to stand alone.
I don’t think it can be overstated how horrendous an idea a pre-planned multi-film storyline within the Disney animated canon is; these movies NEED to be able to stand on their own and should NEVER be designed to set up sequels.

Another fan stated that they are happy for the sequel but they aren’t excited anymore as none of the sequels could match the beauty of the first Frozen film.
I really do enjoy these movies, but no sequel will ever be able to match the masterpiece that the first Frozen was

A fan wonders if they really need 4 films.
Do we really need 4 Frozens?

Another fan feels that the third film would either be amazing to watch or utterly disappointing.
Somehow it’s gonna be either amazing or the worst thing ever

While the news has raised concern among fans of the franchise, the idea of a third film is exciting as viewers would get to see more of Sven and Olaf something that they adore watching than the main characters of the film.
Frozen 3 is set to release sometime in 2025.
