Although Dragon Ball and Naruto might be great in a number of ways, the one place where One Piece excels is the manga sales. Since the release of the first chapter of One Piece in July 1997, the series has only gone up in terms of general sales of manga volumes and has set a benchmark that no other series can even imagine reaching.

Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece has set multiple world records with its sales, and it has been doing so for almost 30 years. The series is predicted to shatter all of its previous sales records because of the beginning of the final saga, which is going to be the best narrative the One Piece fans have ever seen, as it will reveal all the mysteries that have been foreshadowed over the years.

The adventures of Monkey D. Luffy with his crewmates as he indirectly saves the world from the clutches of the World Government and evil pirates like Blackbeard have amassed a huge and loyal fan following who have made sure that One Piece remains at the top even after so many years.

One Piece Manga Sales Are Greater Than Ever

According to Variety, One Piece ranks third on the list of the top 25 entertainment and gaming franchises for 2023 to date, as ranked by Fandom. The series had a great year last year, as it also ranked first for the 13th time on the “Top-Selling Manga in Japan by Volume” list shared by Oricon.

Not only that, according to Waybuloo Wiki, the series had over 523.2 million copies in circulation in 61 countries and regions worldwide by the end of December 2023. This made One Piece the best-selling manga series in history and the best-selling comic series printed in book volume, as it surpassed JK Rowling’s Harry Potter, which had over 500 million copies in circulation.

The series entered its final saga with the Egghead Island arc. The Egghead arc right now holds the most importance, as it has revealed a lot of mysteries about the One Piece world. From the Five Elders to the powers of Joy Boy from the Ancient Kingdom, the series has certainly intrigued fans a lot more than it has done on previous occasions.

With One Piece manga chapters being released weekly, the series is unfolding its secrets one by one, and every new chapter brings with it a new twist to the foreshadowing Oda has done over the years. 2023 was the year of One Piece, and as the series is gaining popularity day by day, it looks like One Piece will rule in 2024 too.
