One of the most fun and challenging aspects of any Soulslike game is the bosses, and sometimes a poison location, but that’s a different story. Clearly, developers understand this, as recently, games in this category have been releasing what are known as boss rush modes.

In terms of Lords of the Fallen, this new update will be known as ‘Clash of Champions‘ and it will bring two different versions of the boss rush mode into the game that will allow players to choose how difficult they want their lives to be.

Currently, the two boss rush modes will allow you to either take on the bosses one at a time, providing you with rest and recovery after each battle, or to fight these enemies sequentially for what will likely be one of the toughest challenges you can ever take on within the game.

If you are looking to put your builds to the test, this would be the perfect opportunity, as it will allow you to take on some of the most gruelling fights in the game one after another while also testing your skills and memory as there are plenty of bosses to fight your way through.

Hidetaka Miyazaki Is Very Much Against These Kind of Modes in Elden Ring and Other FromSoftware Titles, Except Sekiro

Hidetaka Miyazaki stands firm against a boss rush mode in Elden Ring.

Throughout the gaming industry, there are always some things that developers hate with a passion and refuse to include in their games, and for many of these modes, there are very good reasons behind it.

One of these developers is Hidetaka Miyazaki, the man behind the Soulsborne collection of games, who has worked on titles like Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Elden Ring, and many more. All of these different games will task players with fighting against daunting bosses that test their skills and patience, which is something Hidetaka Miyazaki holds dear to his heart.

This tends to be one of the main reasons why FromSoftware doesn’t tend to implement boss rush modes into its games, as Hidetaka Miyazaki feels that conquering a boss should feel both satisfying and progress the story, but that cannot happen when you fight 20 bosses one after another.

There are plenty of other reasons as to why these boss rush modes are ignored by Miyazaki, whether that be it ruins the gameplay aspects, takes away from the challenge and mystery, or just overall stops players from exploring the vast worlds that have been painstakingly created by FromSoftware.

What do you think about Lords of the Fallen getting this new boss rush mode? Are you looking forward to the challenge? Let us know in the comments what you think!
