Bandai Namco fans are in for a treat this year as Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is finally arriving next month after a long wait. The upcoming DLC recently got a story trailer that highlighted what it has in store for fans now. But that’s not it; another much-awaited game, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, is likely to see the light of day this year.

Including the official announcement trailer, Bandai Namco has revealed three trailers for the game now. Although it is said to include 164 characters in the final roster, only 25 characters have been revealed yet. The last game in the Budokai Tenkaichi series was released 15 years ago so fans can expect a dramatic improvement in Sparking! Zero.

DBZ Fans Might be Thanking Elden Ring Fans a Lot for This

When it’s part of one’s childhood, seeing it again sure doesn’t leave any room for patience. Fans have been speculating about Sparking! Zero‘s release date for quite some time now and the new leak may just help in satisfy their hunger. The game was said to be released this year and this might seal the deal.

In a data mine shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by a user dubbed SergioM3, it mentions October 1, 2024, just below the game’s name.

That solidifies the game’s arrival, as all the games in the Budokai Tenkaichi series have arrived in October only in Japan. Considering this, we can say that the game is just five months away if all the developmental work is finished by then.

It will be an action-packed ride as Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will get to see more characters that didn’t make it to the past games in the series.

The Game is Already a Cherry on Top of Budokai Tenkaichi Cake

Over 20 characters have been revealed in the game.

While the release date is still under wraps, DBZ fans already believe the game is at its peak. They are especially intrigued by a version of Gohan that belongs to the alternate timeline. Other characters revealed in the trailers include Master Roshi, Piccolo, Beerus, and more.

While the trailers only give a glimpse at characters like Beerus, the developers have, without a shadow of a doubt, done justice to their personalities. However, some aspects in a few characters, like their voice, may be an issue here. For one, Kid Gohan’s voice from the original series isn’t likely to make it to the game.

Other than that, everything shown in the game is just a cherry on top of the Budokai Tenkaichi cake. We don’t know for sure if the date revealed in the data mine will be accurate, but it is very likely that the game will hit the shelves this year only.
