Well, it’s the entertainment industry where interactions often become an instant viral sensation. For example, last year, we witnessed a moment of miscommunication that actually sent ripples through social media. Amber Heard’s friend, supermodel Cara Delevingne, found herself amidst a storm of controversy for what many saw as a rude reply to Formula One legend Martin Brundle during a pre-race grid walk.

However, could it be that Delevingne was unfairly judged? Brundle, known for his candid grid interviews, approached the London-born model for a “quick chat”. Although she politely excused herself, citing her inability to “hear anything”, the internet backlash was swift and severe.

But was this really a snub, or simply a misunderstanding amplified by the roar of the Grand Prix atmosphere?

Cara Delevingne’s ‘Not to Sweet’ Encounter with Martin Brundle

In the fast-paced world of Formula One, grid walks are a common occurrence where broadcasters like Martin Brundle chat with celebrities and drivers before the race. It’s an opportunity for fans to get a closer look at the personalities behind the scenes, making Cara Delevingne’s refusal to speak (back in 2023) all the more shocking.

Although Delevingne smiled at the former motorsports racing driver when he approached her, she showed no interest in responding to his questions (via YouTube). Not to be deterred, the persistent Brundle continued to try to strike up a conversation, stating:

She does not want to talk? But everybody talks on the grid, that’s the deal.

He then made another unsuccessful attempt to ask the former Victoria’s Secret model:

Can we have a quick chat? Sky F1. The deal is everybody has to speak.

However, Delevingne stuck to her guns and stated:

I can’t hear anything. I’m so sorry.

But after acknowledging her less than flattering reply, he just turned to leave, saying:

Alright, I’m sure it would have been extremely interesting.

In Delevingne’s case, it seems that she was having trouble hearing Brundle due to the noise and chaos of the grid. The model, 31, supported her action by responding in a since-removed tweet (via The Mirror):

I was told to say no so I did. Thank you for seeing both sides.

While her response may have come off as dismissive, it’s likely that she was simply trying to navigate a challenging situation. Of course, this hasn’t stopped the Twitterverse from exploding with criticism towards Delevingne. Well, did you know she also experienced the wrath of fans during the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trials?

Cara Delevingne Reportedly Drove a Wedge Between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard?

As everyone watched the court proceedings on their screens, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation case went viral on the internet. The two got together for the first time in 2009 while filming The Rum Diary, as we learned from ABC News. After a whirlwind romance that turned the town red, the couple eventually got married in 2015.

However, Heard filed for divorce in 2016 following allegations of domestic abuse against Depp. Throughout the court case, the Aquaman actress and her former husband leveled a number of accusations against one another (see LA Times).

Heard’s connection to Cara Delevingne was another thing Depp took issue with. The Pirates of the Caribbean star testified during the defamation trial that he doubted Heard and Delevingne’s relationship. Depp also believed the British model was to blame for the dissolution of his marriage with the London Fields actress. According to a 2016 report (via Yahoo):

Amber’s friendship with Cara, which grew closer and closer over time, brought about the beginning of the end of her marriage to Johnny. Amber always made her bisexual tendencies quite obvious. But that would spark furious rows with Johnny, who hated how indiscreet she was being.

Depp “could not stand Cara”, according to reports, which added

He found her obnoxious and disrespectful and would ask his staff to warn him when she was going to be around. He didn’t like quite a few of Amber’s friends, but he took a particular dislike to Cara. It was the friendship with her that really started to drive him insane.

Moreover, Depp stated that his ex-wife, her friend Delevingne, and business mogul Elon Musk were in a threesome relationship (see NY Post). The CEO of SpaceX laughed at the rumors, while Heard also refuted the accusations.

There’s no denying that the trial shed light on the complexities of Depp and Heard’s relationship, as well as the tangled web of their social connections. With the world watching on their screens, the truth behind their relationship seems to have been dissected and scrutinized like a real-life soap opera!
