The film director asked Cruise to share the “weirdest” story he has heard about himself in Hollywood. He was dumbfounded at knowing the rumor that people on sets “were not allowed to look me in the eye.”

His co-star came to clarify the false rumor stating,

“I’ve been able to hack my way through all the bizarre mythology that surrounds him.” He continued, “On one side he’s Tom Cruise – this enigmatic film star everyone wants to know about. And on the other, he’s just a guy. I like being normal with him.”

While the rumors were nothing but bluff, it was not enough to judge his relationship with crew members, especially when the actor hit headlines during the pandemic for berating the film crew.

“Everything that Tom cares about, in terms of his job, was at stake due to the pandemic.” He continued, “For him there was a danger this virus could wipe cinema off the face of this earth.”

Given the situation at the time, Cruise was only taking precautions to make sure that everyone stay safe. The film which was in production at the time, is finally hitting theatres this July 12, 2023.
